Since the release of her debut album, Failer, in 2003, Kathleen Edwards has spent most of her time on the road. With a voice as reckless as it is bold, Edwards finished recording her future 2012 release with co-producer Justin Vernon (Bon Iver) last year. Her most recent release, a 7" entitled Wapusk, pays tribute with its slow and tranquil sound to the Northern Manitoba location where polar bears spend their summer months. Edwards has created an alternative sound that dances between country and roots music while creating imaginative and often heart-wrenching lyrics.
